“Baseball is the only field of endeavour where a man can succeed three times out of ten and be considered a good performer” Ted Williams
Eastern Baseball Academy successfully held its first indoor spring baseball league over the past 10 weeks in which they hosted 4 teams with a total of 30 players who saw anywhere from 80-110 at bats during the 10 game league.
In the end the focus turned to Team MacDonald as they hoisted the EBA Spring League trophy with a league record of 8 wins and only 2 losses.
Team MacDonald proved to be the team to beat early on in the season as they were consistent at the plate and learned how to manufacture runs which enabled them to produce many high scoring games and a bigger number in the win column!!
Team MacDonald showed no fear throughout the year as they had 3 comeback wins and never backed down from anyone regardless if they had there whole team or were short players on game day, they always found a way to score runs. Whether it was the speed of Ethan Craig, the consistent multiple hit games by Gabriel Penalver and Reece LeClair or was it the timely hitting by the rest of their teammates. “This was the most consistent team offensively and defensively throughout the 2012 EBA Spring League and they showed up to play everyday” says President Jason Monaghan.
We look forward to hosting the EBA Spring League again next year and would like to expand to a 6 team league to provide more players game experience and quality at bats leading into there minor ball summer leagues. EBA is also pondering the idea of a Fall Instructional League!!
