“Every hitter likes fastballs, just like everybody likes ice cream.  But you don't like it when someone's stuffing it into you by the gallon.  That's what it feels like when Nolan Ryan's thrown balls by you”.  Reggie

The Coaches

Jason Monaghan

As he started his coaching career in the Bantam level, Monaghan has been moved up the ranks and has been coaching and training on the provincial level since 2005.

Fortunately, Jason has had a lot of National tournament experience playing in 8 National showcases/tournaments, while earning MVP awards in 3 of those appearances. After completing a short stint on the Provincial Jr. Team he went on to play at the Collegiate level in the Brevard Collegiate Summer League in Melbourne, Florida.

As he started his coaching career in the Bantam level, Jason has been moving up the ranks and has recently finished up his 1st season as Head Coach of the PEI Youth Selects Provincial team.

Jason’s reasoning for opening a baseball academy was to work in an environment in which seemed like fun to him but in a business demeanour. He has a very strong passion for the sport of baseball and is looking for the challenge to develop as many players as possible beyond their expectations and goals in baseball which will get them to the next level in their playing careers!

Andrew MacNevin

Andrew played college baseball at NCAA Division 1 Niagara University, NY where he was named team Captain, District 1 Academic All American, Student-Athlete of the Year, 2 time MAAC All-Conference player, 2 time MAAC All-Tournament playoff team, and currently ranks among the top of many career records at Niagara University including hits, doubles, home runs, walks and RBI’s. Andrew also played with various provincial teams representing PEI at national championships, was selected to the Junior National Team Canada, played for Okotoks Dawgs of the WMBL and signed with Victoria Seals of the professional North American (Golden) Baseball League.

Andrew began his coaching career as a recruiter and assistant coach at Niagara County Community College (NJCAA) in Sanborn, NY, before moving on to the Okotoks JDawgs Baseball Academy (Okotoks, AB) helping to build the Academy from the ground level into arguably the most prestigious baseball program in the country.

Andrew looks forward to sharing his experience and knowledge of the game by teaching proper fundamentals, encouraging year round training programs for developing youth players, and ultimately helping to achieve many player goals to move on and have success playing at the next level.

Andrew MacDonald

Andrew has a strong past of excelling and showing success in the game of baseball while starting his career attending Team Canada tryouts for 2 consecutive years following the Canada Cup tournaments each of these years.

Played on Team Ontario a travel team, through the summer of grade 12 which is where he got scouted for Niagara University. Attended Niagara University on a baseball scholarship and had a career average of over .300. Andrew was honoured to be named "Team Captain" during his Junior and Senior year on the Niagara Purple Eagles.

Following his Niagara stint Andrew went on to play in the Northwoods League in Thunder bay, Ontario after his third year of college.

Andrew has displayed many different baseball clinics over the years and is glad to spread any knowledge he has gained over the years to the younger kids growing up in the game now. "There are many more opportunities for kids to get an education and play some quality baseball away at school these days as long as they are willing to put the work in" says Andrew.
